Our old friend Paul Frank Sunich looking dashing in the chore coat…

With a love for this city, we are fortunate to be working on a special project with Jack/Knife for some good people in Germany.  John, Nick, and Melissa are the creative juice that is Jack/Knife, making each piece themselves, down to the hand hammered rivets.  Thanks for giving us a peak inside your door!

It is our fortunate circumstance to find ourselves in an inspiring new studio to do our thing and to have Heath Ceramics just outside our window.  They have made ceramic items for the home since 1948, all still made in their Sausalito, Calif. factory.  I had the pleasure of taking a behind the scenes tour yesterday with the owners, Robin and Cathy.  Heath approaches simple items like plates and bowls with a careful eye and applies their skill to make something beautiful that will last and feel important for generations.  If you are in San Francisco, take the time to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and find this place.  You will leave with a real taste of what is great about the Bay Area…

A nice piece on manufacturing in San Francisco.  Well done Jared!

lionandpsalter asked: That looks like a really nice gym! I've been doing BJJ for a good while...

Empower in San Francisco is really incredible.  Every element is thought out.  It was my first lesson ever and it was a privilege to be trained by these guys that are at the highest level.  Their humility was appreciated…

Took my first Jiu Jitsu class today at Empower in San Francisco:

Intimidating as hell for about a minute then it is on.  Thanks to the whole crew for not making me feel like a blind man on a squirrel hunt!

Really incredible…

Check this new shop of ours in Hamburg:
Tomas I Punkt
They run 2 stores in Hamburg plus the I Punkt Skateland (http://www.i-punktskateland.de/).
One of the stores (that will carry Tellason) is using 5 floors in an architectural gem, the so-called “Hulbe Haus”, built by architect Henry Grell in 1910.  Thanks for hooking this up, Uwe!

Having spent a lot of quality time drawing on the side walls of my Vans back in Jr. High, I didn’t flinch when my 5 year old went for the same on my Red Wings.
