Our thanks the good people in Berlin who are helping us carry on our way to make things happen for Tellason. Now that we are beyond our “Freshman” year, it is great to see these European lads come up to say hello wearing our stuff as it was made to be worn. Here are some images from our new friend, Alex Von Bronewski from Lindau, Germany near Lake Bodensee. He is a full time ship builder and can dish out some abuse on his gear.
I live in a beautiful small town called Mill Valley, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. One of our town’s treasures is Misak, the cobbler who owns a shoe repair shop and has been doing his craft for decades. His warmth is contagious, he can fix anything you hand him and he will treat each repair as if it were his last. I picked up my resoled Redwings today (as seen on the counter above) and we spoke about the craft of fixing things instead of throwing broken stuff in the trash. A passionate man, doing what he loves…
I also met David Marks while I was in there picking up my boots. David lives in Mendocino and helps Misak with an occasional repair to one of his machines. David is also making a documentary on Misak and his life called, “In the Cobbler’s Shoes”.
A real gem!
The Sheffield, our fifth fit, will debut in two weeks in all three of our Cone Mills White Oak selvage fabrics (12.5, 14.75 & 16.5 oz.). It is the Ankara straight leg from the waist to the knee and the John Graham Mellor slim straight from the knee down.
The fit is named after the city of Sheffield in England where the Clash played their first ever show on July 4, 1976. Certainly a significant date for another reason as well!
This beautiful place we call home…
Our UK flag carrier, Rudy, from Son of a Stag, made us aware that his shop manager, Dan Findell, got in a wreck on his motorbike. The good news is he is ok but the pavement or car that dishes out the damage will always win…
It got me thinking of the influence Evil Knievel had on lads like myself growing up in the 70’s. The whole country woke up on an occasional Saturday morning back then knowing they were going to see something special from Evil. He always delivered one way or the other and gave us something to aim for on our own front yard ramps. And he always wore a helmet even with that perfect dry wave of a haircut…
A beautiful piece on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. Thanks for finding Brian Awitan…
